Greeting and Welcome

Pattaya

A famous resort destination in Thailand located on Thai Bay coast, in Chonburi Province, East region of Thailand. Thais people known Pattaya as the sleepless city, some call heaven, some call sin city. For me, Pattaya is everything, everything means everything, everything means you can find everything here in Pattaya.  Thousands of thousands stories out of millions different points of views based on what storyteller been through and experienced either directly or as third party listener.
Located just less than 2 hours by bus from Bangkok heading to East direction, it makes Pattaya even more famous for both domestic and foreign visitors for either short or long holiday session, tons of western elder tourists decided to spend the rest of their lives living here after their retirement from their western cold-countries.

Cost of living here considered pretty cheap for those European visitor when it quite a bit high for local people – especially those migrated from other provinces looking for work and opportunity in life. Thai people can live on 10,000 baht per month cover eat, rent, entertainment, travel expenses, and little shopping. Standard wage as far as I heard recently (2015) 300 baht a day minimal, some made a little less while some made a lot more.

Most job employments here is tourism related services, from small size to mega and five-star one, population are in all races and nationalities from all over and around the world. Marriage becomes more interracial and you can see all types of mixed-kids here.

Politically, it’s self-governed led by Mayor Itthipol Khunplome, with many sub and complex organization charts, situation here moving quicker than other part of Thailand in order to handle problems right, quick, and on time, mainly to serve visitors and tourists.

Some ill-purposed businesses still can be found, crime rate is quite a bit higher than other regions in the country. Let’s make it short in this issues, the rate is quite high still – especially when economic is in bad shape.

Since I have been living here for more than 15 year till now, moved in 2000, my kind of work is Public Relation Related and Press & Media field, so I involved quite a lot with information sources. So, I will try to bring you guys as accurate as info about Pattaya, I will make it little grey when talking about black or grey issue, in the meantime will make it even brighter when talking about good things, I’m PR you know J, but please be sure that all the information I published here will be based on foreign side, perspective, and benefit, and I do hope you guy can use my info for your even more pleasant stay and living here in Pattaya.
