How we, Pattaya people, survive during the Covid-10 Pandemics

The deadly world crisis pandemic of Covid-19 turns the whole world and people into difficult situation; health, economic and society including other dimension. Another most outstanding problems that people around the world are facing right now and is considered as the basic issue for human needs daily is 'Starving' problem. The following content I you're going to read from  now on is what I want to share with all you guys readers from around the world who is landing into this page from whatever the keywords searched are, How Pattaya People, including me, survive from starving during the pandemic
I decided to keep this picture of myself once in a lifetime (blue in second row)

We all here know very well that the infection started and originated in China back during the end of 2019 on that time most people didn't aware and concern much it would have come this far and serious. Remember I read the news on TV and simply thought it would be just another sickness or disease that will vanish and go away soon just like others such as flu or sars that happened before and finally gone by human skills. However, it wasn't turned out that way. The pandemic getting more serious and spred wider and wider, from China to Thailand, from Thailand to Korea, Korea to Japan, first in Europe is Italy and Spain and finally almost every country in the world. 1,000,000++ sick and died. The situation got even worse when many countries decided to lock down the countries and when the country is locked (closed) people lost their jobs and yes, No Job, No Money, No Food - people getting hungry. The followings are how we survive from it.
Thank you

I'm one of those losing jobs and money from this pandemic, I remember the sign of losing job started on the early of January when numbers of infected are getting higher everywhere in the world and that time in Thailand found less than a hundred. On top of it, my job needs to cooperate and contact with many group of people so my job is the first job here in Thailand directed by the government to close, and yes, I started losing my job completely on February 2020, with a little saving money left in account that will last for just a month or two paying for rent, food, and other daily supplies.

My saving ran out completely on beginning of March, and what I usually did was to keep my eyes on search everyday where free food and suppliers are distributed – lucky enough that in Thailand and Pattaya area, there are many kind hearted people and organization provided help. The things that we do is to write down on paper and plan how to travel to the distributing spot on time – some spot start distributing early morning, while some others did in the evening time. So, I have has 2 periods of time during the day to run to be on the que and yes I have to make sure I would be there on time and get the coupon registration because if I were late it meant I wouldn’t get the coupon and wasted my time of traveling there.

Concerning waiting time, some places I arrived at 5 am and receive rice or food supplies around 9 am – the morning time seemed to have no problem or difficulty. The most difficult time is during the evening session because I need to be there at least around 2-3 pm when the sunlight is very strong and hot – waiting in the que under the sun until the distributing time around 5pm normally was very hard for me. Some people couldn’t stand to handle the weather, but nobody gave up, many people got fainted. This looked to me like I went to the battle wars in concrete battle field with the sun as the biggest enemy and I’m survived in the end.

Thanks to those kind-hearted people, Thai and foreigners, living and doing business here in Pattaya, without you guys, I would have come this far or survive. Now, business starting get back alive again slowly, and let's hope everything will get back to normal soon.

Pattaya Beach During Covid19 Lockdown

What happen to Pattaya Beach after the city lockdown due to the Corona Virus Covid-19 pandamic in Thailand?

Many people especially people from around the world who ever visited Pattaya during the normal time without any issue. The sleepless city which is well known by both Thai and international people Pattaya - it never been quiet and sleep throughout the whole year. However, let take a look on what is happening right now after the government orders it to lockdown.

I'm pretty sure that all of you may not surprise at all because it should be like other places around the world when being commanded by the government to lockdown. Yes, you are right! Unbelievable, the city and the beach where crowded all day and night is now like abandoned city and beach. Everything is just like the following pictures.

The beach during the day is empty and peaceful, just few birds are seen walking and playing on the beach even on the footpath still no human seen. This is the first scene in 20 years since I move to work and live here in Pattaya I've ever seen. However, some of you may not have visited Pattaya for a short while already and may surprise how the beach changed, Yes, it's been changed for over 2 years already. The city extended the beach by adding sand making the beach longer into the sea. This makes Pattaya beach nowaday very beautiful, clean, and spacious welcoming everyone to sunbathe.

Alright, this is the update of the 2nd day of Pattaya Lockdown during the virus pandamic in 2020. I heard many people here especially senior local people told me that Pattaya City after the crisis will never be back to be the same, this is the biggest changed they have ever seen in their entire life. I'm excited to see what's going to be after the crisis is over, and keen to know what kind of chage is going to be after this - good or bad change, the answer is to be seen soon.

Covid-19 Situation in Pattaya

Latest update of Pattaya's Corona Virus Covid-19 Crisis

April 2, 2020

Pattaya, the city well-known as 'Sleepless City' where day and night is not different because it's always been packed with tourists from around the world and the traffic is as jammed as in Bangkok Thailand. People here including tourists normally spend their wild side of life day and night and seems both city itself and people living here never go to bed. However, things really changed NOWWW.

It's Thursday afternoon here, 1:44 pm, and am sitting here right before my computer screen quietly alone inside my small room which normally never happened before because I normally have things to do and work for living outside. But now, everything is completely shut down day and night for almost a week already. Places allowed to open in specific time and most of them urged to close at 6:00pm. It's very strange here since I have been living here in Pattaya since 2000 and never have seen something like this before my whole 20 years since I live here. Day time usually very noisy and busy outside especially where I live which located next to Sukhumvit Highway, the main road connecting Bangkok with eastern seaboards provinces where industry is growing higher than the rest parts of Thailand, today everything is shut and the road is very quiet.

People routine also getting chaged, the picture of many people coming out to do their daily chores have been gone, few people seen in morning market. House, shops, food stalls and everything is only around 10% left. People seem to rush when they are outside, their face look worried and they seem to buy or do what they need to do and hurry back home - so this is the day scene here right now in Pattaya around where I live which is a little bit on an outskirt area of Pattaya.

Regading night time, yes, as expected, everything is quiet and dark. People stop doing things from 6:00pm already - with no surprise, the road is 99% empty. The government ask people to stay at home in order to reduce or slow the spreading of virus. However, the number of infected people are increasing 100+ average daily which right now, today, Now, Thailand has 104 new cases, 1,875 total and 18 deaths already. Everyone here in Thailand and of course including me are frightened and hope things will get better soon.

The following pictures are the night scenes of the very well-known spots of Pattaya Walking Street and some of them are in South Pattaya - the crowdest area. and some of them are on Sukhumvit highway from my news reporter friends camera.

An hour ago, I went to buy instant food in famous convenient shop 7-11, I was not allowed to get inside because I didn't put mask on my nose and mouth. Things quite in panic and stress over here in Pattaya because many people lost their jobs right away after the government annoucced the emergency decree. Actually, everyhing slowed down since last month already when the 1st spread in Thailand by Chinese tourists. Oh, and right now in Chonburi province where Pattaya is located, I've read the report yesterday that Chonburi is the 2nd highest infected numbers in Thailand, 59, also almost hundreds of them to be monitored and followed up closely.

Every place where people might gather up are ordered to close including park, beach, restaurant only allow taking away, school, office, and95% others of them are ordered to close and postpone in many businesses. Some of school start planning on remote study via internet at home. The situation over here doesn't look good at all and still can't see or expect when it supposes to end.
